Video Conferencing

  • Zoom.us: Free video conferencing for basic services; $15/mo for advanced tools. Nonprofit special rates via techsoup.org at https://www.techsoup.org/search/products/zoom/.

    • Here’s a great tutorial about Zoom

    • Tips: pay particular attention to the settings in your account as the host to make sure your meetings run more smoothly and without issues. There are a lot of settings, but there are two that are important to highlight: 1) you can mute all participants upon entry (Settings > Schedule Meeting)) 2) set your meeting so that only the host can share their screen. This prevents "zoombombing" (Settings > In Meeting (basic)). Additionally, your Zoom meeting information should not be shared on your website publicly. Instead, share this information via your church eNewsletter. You can also set up additional parameters in your Zoom settings to ensure the privacy of your meeting.

  • Cisco Webex: Very similar features to Zoom and also a great platform for video conferencing.

  • Google Chat: Free, but need to have a Gmail account.

  • Adobe Connect: Large-scale conferencing and webinars.

  • GoToMeeting.com: Large-scale webinar and conferencing tools.

  • ShowMyPC.com: Easy way to share your screen for easy over-the-phone tutorials.
