The Collaboration Team
Sara Bitner serves as the Communications Officer for the Diocese of Milwaukee and as the Parish Administrator for St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, in Milwaukee. She began her work with the Episcopal Church at St. Mark’s in 2014 and joined the bishop’s staff at the diocese in 2016. Previously, Sara worked as a speech-language pathologist in the schools for 12 years. She likes to say that she used to work with people with communication disorders, and now she works with people with disorganized communication.
In addition to her work in church communications, Sara is a vocalist and sings with several ensembles in the Milwaukee area, mostly singing sacred choral music. She is a member of Episcopal Communicators.
Beth Felice is the Director of Communications for the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri, a position she has held since 2008. A first career as a concert violinist and university professor, she then worked in music publishing for 13 years, became communications officer with a state humanities council. She’s passionate about knitting together this experience and empowering the ministry of the people of the diocese.
The daughter of a UCC minister and graduate of one year of Episcopal elementary school, she wandered into Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis on a hot August Sunday in 1990, and fell in love with the liturgy and direction of this denomination.
Jenn Johnson is the Missioner for Communications for the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast, serving in this ministry role since 2016. She joined the bishop’s staff over four years ago, initially working in administration where she quickly discovered her passion for sharing her diocese’s vision of discipleship, discernment, and development.
Collaborating with church leadership to develop methods and skills that improve communications between all aspects of church life - staff, volunteers, congregations, and communities - to share the message of God’s love is “what I’m meant to do,” she says.
Jenn is a member of Episcopal Communicators, which she credits as being instrumental to her success in her work. On a personal note, she is in her second year of Education for Ministry, enjoys doing anything outdoors, and is currently updating her 70 year old house one project at a time.
Mike Orr serves as the Director of Communications for The Episcopal Church in Colorado. Previously, he was the Director of Communications at Saint John’s Cathedral in Denver from 2011 to 2015. He began his ministry in communications at Southeast Christian Church, a non-denominational church in the south suburbs of Denver, where he served for 8 years.
In all areas of his ministry, he seeks opportunities to challenge “the way it’s always been done” by raising the level of creativity across all mediums of communication with the end result of relevant messaging and changed lives.
Mike is a member and former board member of Episcopal Communicators and is a speaker and presenter for Project Resource, a series of stewardship conferences funded by The Episcopal Church’s House of Bishops and the Presiding Bishop’s Office for Development.
