Equipment & Software

In order to conduct your church’s online mission, software and tech equipment are often necessary. If your church’s technology is the bare minimum, that’s ok. Set expectations realistically; a small church’s tech set-up does not need to be as intricate and extensive as that of a cathedral or mega church.

Church IT 101
In February 2023, we hosted a workshop with Parke Nimmons, an IT consultant who serves many churches and businesses throughout Colorado. In our time together, we learned about Google vs Microsoft 365, servers vs. cloud-based storage, firewalls and security, and more. Parke guided us through the ins and outs of what to plan for and choices to make when planning for both now and the future. Watch video here | View slidedeck

Tips:

  • Start off by determining what equipment is crucial to your online strategy and looking at reviews and prices online.

  • Before deciding to invest in expensive equipment, ask other churches in your area what they use, and any pros and cons of that software.

  • For equipment that your church would use only occasionally, inquire in your area about renting or borrowing the equipment. For example, extra lighting setups may only be needed occasionally, and can often be rented locally.
